How To Get Here

There are two main ways to reach Manitoulin Island from the mainland. The first is by driving across the Little Current Swing Bridge on HWY 6, which is conveniently accessible from the northern "gateway" town of Espanola, just about an hour's drive from Sudbury, the Nickel City. This route is popular for those looking to avoid traffic on HWY 10 or the wait times at the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry.

The second option is to take the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry, operated by Owen Sound Transportation Company (www.ontarioferries.com). Running from Tobermory to South Baymouth from May through October, this route brings you to the southern tip of Manitoulin Island, South Baymouth. The journey includes a 3-hour drive from Toronto to Tobermory, followed by a 2-hour ferry ride.
